"of the month club" for dad

I am looking for an "of the month club" as a father's day gift. He loves babka, strudel and pastries/desserts in that vain? Any suggestions? Or, other fun ideas are appreciated. Looking for top quality, none of those commercial, imitation brands.

Thanks

Rent Mother Nature sounds like fun. They connect you with farmers and producers who will "rent" you anything from a cow, to a lobster trap, to a beehive, to a maple tree. They report to you regularly on how things are going, and in the end they send you your share of the season's produce. I haven't ordered from them yet, but I like the concept!

Thanks for that suggestion. Probably not something for dad, but something I will definitely use in the future.

kgebhard, is the bacon good? This sounds like a perfect gift.

Hi! My favorite gourmet store is A Southern Season based in Chapel Hill, NC. It is high-quality in every respect and anything you choose from there would be top-notch.

I just did a quick search and I didn't see a link to "of the month" per se, but I am quite positive I have seen that before. Their customer service is stellar, so just email or call them and they will accommodate whatever you would like. Their baked goods are phenomenal, but truly everything they carry is well worth a gift to a dear loved one. Oh, and I am not sure where you are, but A Southern Season is a very classy store; it is not cheesy or kitsch-regional at all.

I would highly suggest the Bakery Gift Club from King Arther Flour

My sister once got me a jerky of the month for my birthday - it was terrific!
