Our office tradition is to bring in a cake for the next person's birthday. I celebrate mine and then I have to bring in for the next person's whose birthday it is. It so happens to be my boss, who has NO sweet tooth. Does not eat cookies, cake, brownies, sugar in general. For lunch she eats pretzels and diet coke. Has nothing to do with dietary restrictions or needs, she simply just doesn't like it. Chips and salsa have been suggested, one year someone brought in soft pretzels with dipping sauces. I was looking for something creative, but she will only eat things out of what she calls "the -ito family" fritos, doritos, cheetos, etc. It's difficult to find a savory dessert snack that isn't a meal! The party takes place after lunch, because it is typically dessert. Any thoughts?!!

I'm assuming it's not going to be a chowhoundy event with the ito family? You could do Frito pies with chili. If you make good chili and have different topping, it's pretty good.

Ina Garten has a really nice parmesan cracker recipe. It's really delicious, and you can just say you made cheese crackers. You could probably even use cheddar instead of parm.

1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
3 ounces grated Parmesan
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Place the butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and mix until creamy. Add the Parmesan, flour, salt, thyme and pepper and combine.
Dump the dough on a lightly floured board and roll into a 13-inch long log. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Cut the log crosswise into 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick slices. Place the slices on a sheet pan and bake for 22 minutes.
