PGA Tour in Rockville gone out of business

I was leaving Whole Foods in Rockville a little while ago and noticed no cars in front or in back of PGA Tour. I drove around the front and there was a sign posted that they haved closed down after two years.
That spot seems to be so unlucky for restaurants, although Houstons is in an unlikely spot and does so well. I've seen so many restaurants come and go there. It's a good sized place with lots of parking so I don't get it, is it just that the types of places that go in there are not good?
What do you think is the problem there?

  1. it's a great location so I don't get it either. There was nothing really distinctive about PGA Tour though. I had lunch there a couple of times and enjoyed the salads but I was never motivated to go there for dinner.

    1. This might be too simplistic of a theory, but I think the name was the problem. PGA Tour? WTF? Makes you think of crappy country club food- or a place with a bunch of golfers hanging around in golf shirts.

      1. I've only been for lunch and I thought it was nice but it was never actually crowded...that's just weird to be on Rockville pike as heavily congested as it is and never really bring a crowd. Portions there were plenty

        1. It was a good safe place to take Fiance's picky sister and safe eating parents because it was near her house, and the food was mediocre and normal, but the first time we went I thought we were going to a golf shop, maybe that had something to do with it.

          1. Food was good.........at first.........then seemed to go downhill........location seemed fine to me....
