I have looked at all the archived threads here about wine fridges, including one that was posted about a day ago. So I have done my research and now I have made up my mind between three different fridges and would like feedback if any of you have it. My choices are based on:
- What I can afford - I am looking for no more than 500-600 dollars
- Most capacity for the price
- Best reviewed brands here on Chowhound
- Must be freestanding

Option 1:
Avanti WC602D 52 Bottle Digital Wine Cooler with Electronic Display
This appears to be a great price.

Option2:
Danby DWC612BLP 75 Bottle Wine Cooler w/ Platinum Door Trim
This also seems to be a great price for this item which has gotten good reviews here on Chowhound.

Option 3:
Wine Enthusiast brand got some good reviews here, too.
Wine Enthusiast 50 Bottle Wine Refrigerator (1-Temp)

Also, is there any reason to get wooden shelves rather than metal other than aesthetics?

Thanks a lot!

I don;t know anything about those specific models, but I can tell you I had freezing problems with my Danby, but I attribute this to putting 40+ bottles in a 35 bottle chiller.

Wooden shelves don't tear up your labels like some of the metal ones do...that's why I went with my Avanti....Eurocave to come in the next 2 years or so! -mJ

Eurocave is great.......until you have to place a service call. It took a MONTH to get a repairman to my house, and I live in the same town!!
