former Pig and Whistle SEA?

Anyone know what's in the old Pig and Whistle space near 85th and Greenwood? It's right in my 'hood but I avoid that interesection because of the horrid congestion.

Looking for a place around here to grab a quick cocktail before we go see SATC tonight.

  1. Acorn Eatery has good cocktails (Holman Rd)...and comfortable or Bick's (noisy)

    1. When did Pig and Whistle vacate?

About a month ago I saw a big van moving all the kitchen equipment out, that was the first I had heard of it.
There is a new brewpub going in by the new pack and ship on greenwood, hopefully we'll have a few new choices by this fall! (new brewpub and hope for something yummy in the old pig and whistle spot)

Interesting. I saw the brew pub - that looked promising. And I see there's a gelato place in the old Upper Crust Catering place (formerly Buddy's Homesick Cafe - RIP).

Yeah, we walked for gelato the other day, had the lemon sorbet, was yummy for being within an easy distance to get to! supposidly they'll be getting pastries too. I think it's called Sweet on You?
And the new brewpub has a website... if my internet wasn't being so slow I'd add it here, I believe its called Naked City Brewing?

The gelato place is owned by the guy who owns Olive You....looks yummy, but what's with the crazy paint job?! :)

thank you! another person who noticed the hideous colors. hmmm. owned by Olive You? I may have to boycott it then due to numerous horrific experiences at Olive You..... Darn, I was excited about gelato close by.

Just checked Naked City Brewing's website, they're slated to open "end of summer". Looks like they specialize in Belgian style ales.

                    More neighborhood gossip/info:

I walked by Naked City today and there is a sign on the door that says they will open Weds 10/22. Also the former North Side Grill is being made into a little cocktail-lloking place, I hear it's someone from Tiger Tail.

The Sundowner Tavern, a couple of blocks west, has been bought and is undergoing improvements, but I have not checked it out yet.

                    Big doings in the neighborhood.

There's a bunch of info on the new bars on phinneywood.com--it might be a bit down the page, since it's from earlier this week.
