Best Sichuan in Chinatown?

After searching this board and the Manhattan board I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Sichuan in Chinatown other than Grand Sichuan. I've been to the location in Bay Ridge and enjoyed, just wondering what else was out there. Thanks!

  1. You may know this: In Flushing (OB board) Chengdu Heaven. Make sure you bring CH translations with you.

    1. As far as I know, there's no other Sichuan in Chinatown.

The old Ten Pell space reopened a couple weeks ago as Famous Sichuan. Based on one dish (dan dan mian), Chengdu Tian Fu in Flushing blows this place out of the water. I might give it another shot, though.

Word from a friend is that Famous Sichuan is run by ex-Spicy&Tasty folk. My one meal there was very good, though I just had a few items: cucumbers in garlic, spinach in ginger sauce, shredded potatoes sauteed and vinegar sauce, pork belly sichuan style, and string beans with the pickled pork. anxious to go back

        2. Would you consider going elsewhere in Manhattan? Szechuan Gourmet is excellent, but it sure isn't close to Chinatown.

Also, I had another great meal at Spicy & Tasty on the 26th. Flushing is the way to go, but I realize it's a long long way from Brooklyn by subway. (I have not been to Chengdu Heaven or Little Pepper yet.)
