Lexington Barbecue (NC) Open On Sundays?

I'm going to be in Charlotte, NC for a day on Sunday. I have heard people raving about Lexington BBQ nearby (well, 60 miles away), and I am enough of a BBQ nut to do the drive just to try the 'Q. Does anyone know if it is open on Sundays?

I'll be on a plane tomorrow, so won't be able to call, and by the time I get to Charlotte, it will be Saturday night. So, if anyone knows the answer, I'd appreciate it and could make my Sunday plans accordingly.

There are at least 10 to 15 BBQ restaurants in Lexington. Most are closed on Sunday, including the most famous, Lexington BBQ #1 (aka Honey Monk's), which I assume is the specific place you are asking about. I know Jimmy's is open on Sunday...its located just off I-85 at the Highway 8 exit. I'm sure if you drive around and ask, you'll find a couple of places open.

Thanks for the reply. My flight from LA into Dallas arrived early, so I ran through the airport and went standby on an earlier flight. Flight was delayed, but still arrived earlier in Charlotte than my original flight. So, touching down at 6:20 pm, I got the car and made it up to Lexington by 8:27 pm. So, I did make it to Lexington No. 1 on Saturday night.

Barbecue was great, Hush Puppies and fries were also good. I didn't like the slaw much -- I like a little creaminess in mine. But I'm glad I got to try it here, since it's unlikely I'll make it back anytime soon, and it was worth trying.
