Any recent word on Meritage in Scarsdale?

lollypop May 30, 2008 05:15 PM

We have friends coming up for dinner next week. I want to find somewhere where the four of us can enjoy a friendly evening with quality food. I've never been to Meritage but it seems fairly well recommended here. Other ideas also appreciated. thanks

Always a solid experience.......great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Some say it's pricey but I tend to disagree when you consider what you are getting.....shhh! don't tell anyone.....this place is one of Westchester's little secrets!

an excellent place to bring friends, because the food is very good and you can hear yourself talk.

I was wondering what moved into Il Cigno's spot.

It looks interesting but, as noted, expensive.

What's a 'small plate'? A teeny tiny itsy bitsy amount of food, enough for half a person?

I think they are designed (and priced) for .3333333333333333 persons.

the small plates are very good, and maybe six bucks. try the roasted peppers.

As 7:30 reservations posted this is one of Westchester's best kept secrets. My feeling is why pay double at "42" or X2O when you can get the same if not better quality at half the price. Me and my wife have always felt welcomed and appreciated when we go to Meritage and unlike "42" when I am working late I do not need a reservation to sit at the bar for a drink. Raider: The roasted peppers are amazing, have you tried there homemade hummus? I always take some home when I go!

                >>better quality at half the price.

Really? Sounds like a place I have to put on 'must try' list.
