DC Restaurants for Wedding Receptions?
Hi all.
I'm newly engaged and considering the possibility of choosing a restaurant for my wedding reception. I will have about 110 people and I was hoping to find a good restaurant to rent out that has a large open dining room that could accomodate a party of our size.
Has anyone been to a DC wedding reception at a restaurant that you've enjoyed?
Or can you think of any restaurant spaces that might accomodate a party like this?
Suggests are very welcome! Thanks SO much in advance!

I had my wedding & reception in the atrium at Old Ebbitt Grill. We absolutely loved it, and thought it was a great value. The food was fantastic -- all my guests were happy. The space is very large (we had 80 people, but they can hold up to 200) --t here's plenty of room for dancing, too. Good luck!

congrats!
I recently attended a rehearsal dinner and wedding held at The Dubliner and the Phoenix Park Hotel. It was a great venue for both affairs. I have a lot of pics if you're interested.›5 Replies-

Thanks so much for these suggestions. Unfortunately my budget is a bit more modest...so the Willard is out of my price range.
I have a call into the Palomar already - waiting to hear back.
The Church we will be going with is in downtown DC, so outside the city isn't going to work for us unfortunately.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks again!

re: Kbfrancini
The ceilings are not ballroom height. We had about 65 people and three connecting rooms. They have a nice floor they can set up for dancing. Our DJ said the hotel was great to work with. We had a "cocktail style" reception with a couple of food stations. Lots of complements about the food and cake. It was a low key reception, not a lot of the associated bridal biz fussiness.

First off, congratulations!
Secondly, a reception at a restaurant can have a wide range of prices, and you don't really mention a budget, so I am just going to mention some of my favorite reception locales.
One of the best receptions I've been to was held at 2941 in Falls Church. I know you mention DC only, but if budget is of little concern, you should really look into this spot. Gorgeous surroundings, ample parking, and delicious food. http://www.2941.com/privatedining-wed...
In DC proper, I've been to a great reception at the Willard Room. I would say that the food tended to be more "banquety" than that of 2941, but it's still a long cry from the usual fare at wedding receptions.
Finally, I would check out the various Kimpton hotel properties in DC (Hotel Rouge, Hotel Palomar, etc). Kimpton properties always put unique spins on weddings. Talk to them about catering in house to look into other options too. Good luck!!
