lafayette street ~E 4th st, ~2:30-4:30pm (late lunch?) recs pls?

price is no issue, ambience would be great, would like to impress! :)

i'm looking for something around Lafayette street & Astor Place/~E 4th st.) for 2 people for a late saturday lunch with good food, great atmosphere and that can possibly linger a little over cocktails (saturday ~2:30pm-4:30pm maybe) - any cuisine would be great, my big issue is everything seems to open much later than what i'm looking for :(

if anyone can make recommendations its much appreciated, thank you!!

  1. Chinatown Brasserie is open all afternoon/evening and has a good combo of lunch food (dim sum) and cocktails.

was looking like an idea until i saw:

      Lunch Sat-Sun: 11am-3:30pm
      Dinner Thu-Sat: 5pm-12am

Does this mean they are closed 3:30pm - 5pm? This is a problem i'm running into a lot :(

Thanks for the suggestion though, the weird 3:30-4:30pm time I guess is giving the biggest problem :(

that's strange, on the website main page (http://www.chinatownbrasserie.com/) i'm seeing:

        Sat lunch 11 am - 5 pm
        dinner 5 pm - 12 am

maybe worth calling them to check?

woot thats awesome. i'd think their own site is more reliable than other review sites as for their business hours.

this looks great actually, thank you very much - i'll run it past the other party but looks good for me! :)

Would you say i'd need reservations for ~2:30pmish lunch on a Saturday or is that off-hour enough? (Not sure how crowded they are - if anyone may know!) thanks again!

When I've been around that time, it's usually pretty busy, but not full. Couldn't hurt to make a reservation. And, I'd call to check just to make sure about the hours.

glad to help! i'm not sure if you'd need a reservation at that time, maybe someone else has a better sense...

Yes, that's the place that came to mind for me as well.
