I found some post on here that relates to udon in tokyo but none in osaka. I though osaka is more famous for its udon. could anyone recommend a place for me to go?

And thanks to those who recommended menya kissou.... it was heaven!

One place I went to twice during my last short trip was Hagakure, which is on the B2 level of Umeda's Ekimae Building #3...the long lines attest to the quality of the food. The crowd favorite by far is the "nama shouyu" or raw soy sauce. It's a cold udon with nothing but scallions, oroshi (turnip mash), lemon juice and soy sauce. The consistency of the udon was pretty amazing.

Udon? Take the bus from Umeda to Takamatsu! In 4 hours, you'll be at the home of sanuki udon. Fun for a weekend trip but maybe not practical for a lunch hour meal...

I'm just going to throw my two cents in for my local udon shop Marugame which I have not bettered in my time in Japan yet. It's in Kishiwada so worth stopping off if you're on the way to Kansai airport on the nankai line. It's about a 10 minute walk from the station.
