i have been calling my usual baltimore seafood haunts to find out if they are selling fresh softshells, but they only have frozen. do i really need to take a ride to the docks to get them? anyone see some out there yet this year?
Call up Tako Seafood in Lutherville. I was there the other day and saw they had some fresh ones.
Balducci's in Old Town had some a couple of weeks ago. You might want to call the Balducci's closest to you.
I saw a few today at the Bethesda Balducci on Old Georgetown Road.
Lexington Market.....sometimes. Wegmans....sometimes...you need to call in advance.
They had them last week at the Dupont CIrcle farmers market.
Just saw some today at Wegmans in Hunt Valley for the first time today. I'm not sure if its a seasonal thing or a limited time, but they did have them today when i was browsing the seafood department.
What about cross street market?
I saw 'em at Belevedere Square about 2 weekends ago also.
My friends parents bought some nice live ones at the Farmers Market under the JFX last weekend, $5/piece.
