There are seven us of coming to visit Maine in the second week of September 2008. I have been enjoying reading all the chowhound comments. What a great website. My question is will some of these wonderful places to dine, drink, and relax be closed after Labor Day. I am trying to make a list of places we must not miss and need to know when the season closes. I am hoping to eat lots of lobsters. I am from the coastal region of North Carolina and we know where all the locals eat seafood so some of you locals I would love to hear from you all.

Others can chime in on specifics...but generally th season does not end 'til Columbus Day.

Many fine dining spots are open year-round (perhaps w/ more limited hours). The seasonal spots/lobster shacks, etc. are at least open weekends thru fall foliage ("Leafpeeping") season.
