LOOSE MEAT SANDWICHES

  • 4

Anyone know of any loose meat sandwiches in the south east? I live in S.C. and am considering opening one. We have nothing like that around here. But, I would like to try one at an established resturant first, just cant travel too far. S.C, GA. N.C. areas.

  1. What, pray tell, is a "loose meat sandwich"? This is a phenomenon with which I'm obviously unfamiliar!

Google makes me think it's sloppy joe like.

I had one in Yankee country a few years ago. Might have been in Minnesota. I think the chain was called "Made Rite" or "Maid Rite", something like that. It was basically a hamburger not shaped into a patty. I really don't recall what it tasted like...just like I don't recall what anything else in Minnesota tasted like. Well, except for the walleye...

I found this link as well:

Seems as if it would taste just like a hamburger, but messier. Oh well - curiosity satisfied.
