why do they float?

Why do ravioli and won ton float when they are cooked? I've always wondered and hope that someone out there can solve this mystery for me.

    air pocket?, if mine gets a hole, they sink, so I think it may be the little bit of an air pocket...???

      That is correct, air in the pocket holding the filling.
