Good Balto restaurant after "Sex in the City"?

  • 5

I'm looking for a good Baltimore (or surrounding areas) restaurant with lots of atmosphere to dine after viewing the "Sex in the City movie". Any thoughts on a chic place, not too expensive with good cocktails? I'm planning an outing with the girlfriends on Saturday or Sunday.

  1. I think your best bets are:

Red Maple (930 N. Charles b/w Read and Eager, http://www.930redmaple.com/
)Sky Lounge (1041 Marshall St @ Cross St, http://www.myspace.com/skyloungebalti...
)Lemongrass (1300 Bank St @ Central Ave, http://baltimore.metromix.com/restaur...)

    1. I'm not a terrific morning person, so I read that subject line in the worst possible of ways.

Anyway, a poll of chic trendy girls here where I work has lead to two agreed upon places: Salt and Ixia.

They are not even close to within the "not too expensive" range. My wife was duped into getting an upcharge tequila in a martini of some sort at Ixia, when the bill came it was about 24 dollars (up from the normal 15). Their food is incredibly expensive for what you get, although it was very good every time I was there.

Pazo has atmosphere and most of their martinis are around 8 dollars, and you can nibble some food.

Junior's wine bar in Federal Hill might suit your needs, and there are a lot of other choices in the area if you get bored with it, but I've had a great time there in the past.

I suppose so. I've only been to Ixia once, Salt twice. However, I know for a fact that some of these girls are at Salt almost every night, and with laboratory technician salaries I wouldn't have expected it to be too expensive. I guess it depends on where you're from too.

I would second Ixia, but agree it isn't exactly cheap. I love their cocktails and have found their food good, but I haven't been in a long time.
