Where do you buy Wagyu steaks?

Looking for domestic, Australian, or the real deal. All three would be a plus . . . . planning on doing a beef showdown . . . .

At Bubba's House of Motor Oil and Wagyu Beef, of course.

Actually at Mitsuwa, but steaks are a special order.

I found the sliced ones suitable for shabu at Mitsuwa all the time. But I guess the OP is looking for a whole one?

Could have sweared I saw the wagu at the freezer section of Surfas too. About $100..

You did! Surfas definitely has it in frozen vacuum packs. Good memory!

Bristol Farms has Wagyu from Australia, e.g. Greg Norman's namesake.

Vicente Foods Market in Brentwood on San Vicente carries Japanese Wagyu. Pricey, but really delicious!

I recommend calling in advance as they don't always seem to have the Japanese Wagyu. They do always seem to have Snake River Farms Wagyu. When they have both it's great to because you can really see the difference. Same breed of cattle but the Japanese stuff is at least twice as marbled with fat. Kind of amazing.

I can't speak to quality though since it's way out of my price range.
