Madeos - best veal chop ever

Last week, I owed a friend dinner and he wanted to go to Madeos. I was happy to go as I'd been once before and enjoyed it. The time before, with a friend, we split a couple of pastas to start, both enjoyable, and I had the sliced roast veal about which so many people rave. It was indeed excellent.

This trip, to try something new, I ordered the veal chop. Not the breaded veal chop on the menu, but the grilled veal chop. This was easily the best veal chop I have ever had, and I have had some good ones. Wow, it was terrific. perfectly cooked, with an incredible flavor. It came on a plate with wonderful au jus, and spinach and roast potatoes on the side.

If you want a great veal chop, this is the place to go.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever seen a veal loin chop at a restaurant? The common ones are the rib chops, with one bone along an edge. The loin chops have a t-bone embedded, are much less fatty and firmer, and I like them a lot better. But they never appear at restaurants. Ideas?

Not enough props on this board for the food at Madeo. It's very good Italian. Unfortunately it's way too crowded nowadays (blame TMZ) and worse, last time we ate there we were not only hurried, but at the end of our meal, we were told, in no uncertain terms, to leave because someone was waiting for our table.

I've always enjoyed Madeo. In addition to that delicious veal chop, they also have a great pasta with bottarga on the menu.
