Trip to DC

We just got back from our son's GW graduation and wanted to share highlights.
Teaism - a perennial favorite. Their green tea rice soup is fantastic, but the chocolate salty oat cookies are the best.

Rasika (D & 6th in the Penn Quarter) - I had the Fish Chutneywala - tilapi with coconut, mint, cilantro and other spices wrapped in banana leaves. I scooped up every bit of the sauce with bread from their wonderful bread basket. My husband had the sea bass and our son had a curry. All were great and good value for the money at lunch. http://www.rasikarestaurant.com

Our big dinner was at Cafe Trope on P just outside of Dupont. Their service was wonderful (we had a very difficult couple in our party) and we loved the food. My husband said his duck with blood orange reduction was the best he's ever had. We also tried the grilled shrimp, artichoke and chicken croquettes, rockfish and pork. The pear and walnut salad was great too. http://www.cafetropedc.com

All in all, a good food trip - and the graduation was pretty good too.
