Sunday Breakfast in Washington

Where's a good place for breakfast on a Sunday morning in Washington? We will be staying near the McPherson Metro Station on June 1. I would like to find a place serving grits. And I'm more interested in breakfast than brunch.

I'm assuming by Washington, you mean DC. You should post your question on this board.

And click on "Title" and write the title of your post in a few words like "Looking for good breakfast in DC."

Chef Geoff's has cheddar grits and shrimp, but it's brunch not breakfast, but I think they start pretty early.

There aren't a lot of breakfast options. You can try Old Ebbit or Cafe du Parc but neither have grits. Some of the pay by the pound buffett places will have grits but watch your plate as it can end up being a very expensive breakfast depending on weight. Georgia Brown's does a great brunch on the weekends and has grits. DC is more of a home fries for breakfast place than grits.

Florida Ave Grill is a classic.

I like Leopold's Kafe in Georgetown for a more European type breakfast..... I know... no grits, but its a fun place with good different food. Just throwing it out there....

Georgia Browns has some seriously wonderful grits. It is brunch, though.

I have had success with egg dishes before at the Diner and Luna Grill. Don't know about the Grits situation though.

Station 9 is open at 11 am. They've got grits, fried chicken, shrimp, you name it. it's a fantastic buffet for around 25 bucks a person.
