Lake George Lunch Advise
Will be coming from Montreal and this looks like a possible half way stop for lunch. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be Lake George, just not too far off I 87. Nothing fancy, nothing fast food.
go a bit further south on 87 and get off exit 15. Head into Saratoga and eat at the Olde Bryan Inn, it is right off of route 50 on a small side street. Great food in a great old building. You will not be disappointed. Back on 50 into the city of saratoga and have dessert at Mrs. London's.....
Saratoga Springs would be a good choice, and offers many alternatives. But so does Glens Falls, a little closer to Lake George. Downtown, there's Davidson's brewpub. In South Glens Falls, there's Jake's Roundup, which is fun for lunch, kind of Tex-Mex meets the North Country.

Davidsons is a small micro-brewery in "downtown" Glens Falls. (Interesting note - Glens Falls is the only upstate city to have actually increased population in the last few years! It's an interesting, historic place.)
It is very casual, offers pub food, and good beer. They have a sidewalk cafe thing going on too. The inside is small, and bar like.
I like their Stout & Cheddar Soup, grilled sandwich fare, artichoke dip, fish & chips, and onion rings. Someone on here had a bad dinner there - they ordered something that sounded kind of fancy (I can't recall...). I'd stick to their pub food offerings.
