ISO Of Great Homemade Tortillas on the Westside

Moose May 22, 2008 03:00 PM

I'm making carne asada tacos tonight, so would prefer not to use supermarket tortillas. Any suggestions in the Santa Monica, Culver city Mar Vista area? Non-Gallegos, please. (I'm looking for taqueria style white corn, not the thick yellow ones they have at Gallegos)

Thanks!

Casablanca on Lincoln makes AWESOME homemade tortillas, but I don't know if you can buy them to go by themselves. (It's a restaurant not a store.) I kind of doubt it, but who knows. It's certainly too late for you tonight anyway, but hey, now you know.

Sorry this is late... If all else fails, you can try Trader Joe's. They often carry a wide assortment of tortillas, and I believe the do have a taqueria style tortillas - I don't recall if it was white or yellow corn... Also, did you try Sanchez on Inglewood?
