Forbidden rice

I'm preparing to make some mango sticky rice, and thought perhaps it would be striking to use thai black/forbidden rice instead of regular sticky rice. Has anyone tried this? How did it turn out?

I'm currently looking for a recipe for forbidden rice cakes.
I had some that were made in a local health food store deli department and they were unreal! SOOO excellent! Served with a cause made of Veganaise/garlic/tamari and wasabi.
I HAVE to find a recipe or make one up because they're excellent and since they charge $8.99 a pound, I'm not buying them often.
If anyone has a recipe I would love to have it!

I always buy a seving for takeout when there's something @ New Frontiers that I like - then the ingredients are listed: for Forbidden Rice Cakes they are as follows (in order):
Forbidden Black Rice, Jasmine Rice, Red Onion, Ginger, Sesame Seeds, Sesame Oil, Safflower Oil, Shitake Mushrooms, Salt.
My assumption is that the safflower oil was used to saute them and the rest goes into the ~burger~... they are yummy! I generally buy a couple for our supper since it's cheaper than eating out... but keep meaning to mess around w/ the ingredients at home. Let me know if you work it out. Also - if you talk to someone in the department, they might well give you some pointers. Their recipe would be for lotsa cakes of course, but you might find out the proportion of forbidden to jasmine rice - since the former is listed first we know there's more of it, but how much more?

You could probably do it with a mix of white/brown/black in a 1cup, 1/4 cup, 1 tbs mix.
Just be sure to soak and rinse the black rice separate from the others (unless you want the purple effect).

It will also turn everything it touches a dark purple...

I've never tried it but I can tell you that the flavor will be off -- the forbidden rice tends to have a more bitter flavor. It's also less glutinous and sticky.
