Meeting family in Brattleboro, VT this Sunday!

We are heading to Woodford, Vt from two different locations but we will meet up in Brattleboro just about lunch time. And suggestions for a nice lunch place, sandwhiches, soup, salad, etc. and or even lite meals. Is the cafe on the Ct river any good? We don't want to stray off Rt 9 too much so we can keep going to Woodford after lunch, and not get lost. I also saw a diner mentioned. So a late breakfast or early lunch could work. Thanks for any suggestions. .

I agree with DaceyD. Chelsea Royal Diner is perfect for an inexpensive breakfast, lunch or dinner and it's right on Route 9. You really can't go wrong. The menu is extensive and will please anyone. Take a look at their menu.

The food at the Marina isn't very good. You can always go the Brattleboro Food Co-op and they will make you a sandwich to order or they have a salad bar as well as hot and cold selections, plus they have vegetarian options. They use high qualty foods,local things as well as organic.

I would do the Deli just at the intersection of 9 and 91/93? Great take out food for a picnic, variety and everything I have had there has been fresh and well thought out.....

Yes you are correct, good food but no place to sit and eat and abosulutey terrible parking.

I have heard the complaint about the parking before but the food is absolutely worth it. Get a picnic lunch and have it at the gorge up route 9 al fresco.

top of the hill grill is open for the season.. nice outdoor dining with a great view. opens 11am mon-sat, noon on sundays.

Chelsea Royal Diner on Rt 9W going towards Wilmington. If you drive into Wilmington, there is Dot's Diner, right past the light on RT 9.
Good fare at both places and right on Rt 9.

If you like beer, you really should linger in Brattleboro long enough to go to McNeill's-- it's one of the best brewpubs in the country, as far as I'm concerned.... but unfortunately they don't usually open till 4, I believe. 90 Elliot St.

Haven't found too much to crow about in Brattleboro. But for casual food and a nice wateerside atmosphere, the Marina restaurant is OK. It won't win any culinary awards, but it will probably fit your purposes. http://www.vermontmarina.com/
