Dinner with my 8-year-old between SFO and Palo Alto

Flying into SFO tomorrow night with my 8-year-old, and then picking up a car and driving to the Four Seasons in East Palo Alto. Any good dinner recs along the way, or in Palo Alto itself. My daughter has relatively sophisticated tastes, so no need to dumb down the recommendations. Bonus points if reservations are available on opentable. Thanks!

There are tons of choices - price, type, hour you arrive would be helpful. On university about 5 minutes from your hotel are about 100 places 5 or 10 of which are chow worthy. But on your way is San Mateo with a multitude of choices, Redwood City, etc - so give us some guidance (I'm assuming from your post that you aren't looking for the typical kid type places - nor for a long tasting menu - that still leaves a huge number of choices in between).

I like La Strada in Palo Alto, on University. Junoon, still in Palo Alto, has very sophisticated contemporary Indian food. Cafe' Brioche, on California Avenue in Palo Alto, is an unassuming bistro-style place with pretty good food.
However, if your daughter enjoys a nice meal, Quattro inside the Four Seasons is quite good... they have an Italian-inspired menu with some truly great dishes, like the gnocchi...

As estnet mentioned, there are lots of choices in PA, San Mateo and the area. Also, what's a relaively sophisticated 8 y.o. palette?

If you use Open Table, why not log in and look at the restaurants and if one strikes you, do a search here or ask about that restaurant to get specific feedback.

Also where are you coming from? Looks like the East Coast so some decent Chinese or Mexican food might be a thought.
