Any comments on Cielo at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown St. Louis?

Just looking for comments...good...bad...whatever. Going there this weekend and wondered what folks thought.

  1. I have been to the Sky Bar next to Cielo. Make sure you schedule some time to walk out on the large terrace with a drink in hand and view the Mississippi River.

we are staying at the hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary so we will be doing lots of lounging and relaxing. I hear the pool deck is great and nice for a cocktail. We'll def. grab a drink and hit the terrace.

the view was amazing. we spent the weekend at the hotel. Cielo was not as good as we hoped. Service was not polished yet and the food was....well, it was good but nothing spectacular. Maybe they need to iron out some kinks. Did have the truffled chips and pizza bianco at the bar one afternoon...that was good.

      2. This was the best dining experience my wife and I have ever had. We have dined at top restaurants in New York, LA, San Francisco, Chicago and of course St. Louis. It shocked us that the best of all is now right here in St. Louis. Once I saw the view and patio dining I figured its likely one of those restaurants high on ambiance and low on taste. Wow, was I wrong!!! The combination of ingredients for each dish was often unique yet it worked together so well. Every dish we tasted was absolutely superb. Specifically, we loved the beet salad - "chiogga beets" - I never tasted these before but they are 100x better than normal beets. We loved the cannelini bean bruschetta, proscuitto first course, scallops and veal scallopini. Must go! (We went on June 24 so if there were early kinks, they have been worked out)
