A cook in Nice?

Hello,
We are renting a house 5 minutes north of Nice in June. When we have done this in Italy we have had great luck finding a local person who will prepare a family style dinner for us. Nothing fancy, just good local food. We are an extended family of 14 with 2 children.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Generally, on the côte d'azur these types tend to be somewhat upscale, not family style. The same is true of most of the traiteurs with take home food, but not all. Many butchers have a rotisserie out front with excellent chickens you can take home and serve with some rice or a salad.

Thank you for your help! We will try it and thank you in our toast:) It is much more fun to concentrate on side dishes and let the entree prepare itself!

Can the owners or booking agency for the house you're renting help you? If not, I'd try the concierge at the Negresco Hotel in Nice. They have always been wonderful *even when I was staying elsewhere*!
