Meringue in Brooklyn?

What bakeries if any make nice Meringue - the bigger the better?

  1. I haven't tried them, but I've seen the baked meringues at Provence en Boite on Smith St. I normally get mine from Patisserie Claude in the W.Village.

    1. I noticed some at Almondine in Dumbo--but didn't try them.

      1. The Meringues at Almondine are excellent. Fresh, crisp and quite large.

        I have been meaning to ask if Herve could whip up a Vacherin shell for me. Makes the nest dessert filled with Ice Cream, Fruit, and Chantilly Every neighborhood bakery in Paris has them, but they don't seem very popular here. Ditto for Pain Surprise.

          When we were in Paris about a month ago - I had meringues at this corner bakery on Rue Martyrs (near Rose Bakery) going up the hill, it was the nicest, crisp, freshest thing I ever had (not to mention sweetest)- and I wasn't sure we could ever find anything like that here - but I will but the ones at Almondine soon.
