Post Prom Cocktails?

lexdevil May 21, 2008 08:54 AM

Not what you think. Chaperoning the prom this Sunday night at the Sir Francis Drake. Would like to have a (good) adult beverage afterwards. Prefer not to pay hotel bar prices for meh drinks. So...is anything good in the area and open late on a Sunday night?

Tunnel Top is two blocks away.

Sadly, they appear to be closed on "the Lord's day."

I know that Bourbon & Branch is open on Sundays, just not sure how late. You could make a reservation (and do make one; otherwise, you might get stuck in the library, which may not be the atmosphere you're looking for after the prom) and go over there afterwards. It's a fun speakeasy with great drinks.

Latest reservation is 11:30, which is too early. I need to be able to roll in after midnight.

The bar at Farmer Brown is open until 1am. Don't know if the cocktails are good though.

The cocktails at Farmer Brown are some of the best in town.

What about the Red Room? Walking distance from SFD and they claim to be open til 2 on Sunday. Decent drinks, and definitely not your typical "hotel bar."

I had a few drink at Bar Drake, the recently opened “hotel” bar and was fairly impressed, so you might want to give them a shot (though I don’t know if they keep 2am hours). I’m also quite a fan of Cantina just up the street on Sutter almost at Mason.
