Dallas- near the Hilton Anatole

I will be in Dallas at beginning of June and am looking to take a few clients out to dinner a "not too far" cab ride from the hilton anatole. There have been some great reviews of Dallas but I am shoddy on the geography.

Any help would be appreciated.

Local flare would be ideal with a little Tex-Mex action, but "must-try's" work for me as well not matter what style the cuisine.

Thanks hounders!

From where your hotel is, it's not too far to get to Lemmon Avenue. Gloria's and Uncle Julio's on Lemmon are good for Tex-Mex. If you're looking to break the bank, head to Bob's Steak & Chop House (also on Lemmon). One of the best steaks in town and an overall great dining experience. For something a little more low key, try Mia's and be sure to get the brisket tacos.

However, for something different (and for my personal favorite place in Dallas) tell the cabbie to take you to the Tollway and Lover's. There's a Turkish place called Cafe Istanbul. Call ahead for reservations on the weekend and try the iskender kebap.

I'm sure I'm missing a million great places, but this is a start.

Save the money for the cab ride and go to Nana. It's one of the best restaurants in Dallas and it's right in your hotel.

Nana's was great. The view was spectacular. The food was done as expected after further reading on the restaurant, in a professional and creative manner. Dont have time to go into details but I certainly will at a later date. I would recommend it for people who stay in or near the Anatole.

          Thanks for your help!!!

          TedyB,

How adventurous are your clients? Will they go into a run down looking place for great Tex-Mex?
