Fresh Roti in Irving or Plano Area?
I have family visiting from India, and they have roti's every night for dinner. I've been buying them every 2 days from the nearest Indian Grocery ($4.29 for 8 roti's). They will be here for one month, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a better way to get fresh roti's for less money? (ie. Know of anyone who makes them and sells them from their house)

Well Lucy,
Can you pin down a location....Irving and Plano aren't very close to each other.
Irving - I would try Taj Chaat House on Rochelle and MacArthur....there is also a fairly new Indian grocery store in the same parking lot and I believe they might have a bakery.

If you are looking for rotis at a restaurant in Plano I am almost positive Taste of the Islands (Spring Creek & Alma) has them - http://www.tasteoftheislands.net/
They are actually Caribbean food (Guyana natives).Hopefully this will get you started and some Planonians or is it Planoites ?? will chime in for some places in Plano

re: LucyK
Lucy have you tried Hotbreads in Irving on MacArthur....I know they have breads....maybe you can convince them to start making rotis. I am sure there is a demand in the area as I used to live at Hidden Ridge & MacArthur. If they can make thin skin like ones then we would be set for doubles!!

I know exactly what you are looking for and I know there has to be somone out there making them. There was a lady and her daughter at T'afia selling her chutneys, rotis, naans and raitas in Houston. Perhpas make a plea to Radio Salaam Namaste 104.9...yes I listen frequently and no I don't understand. Let me know what you find out from that....it is worth a shot!!!
