Batchelor Party in New Orleans

I might be a little crazy but I decided to have my Batchelor Party in the middle of July in New Orleans (yes I know it is going to be really hot). I have only been to New Orleans once for Jazz Fest and loved everything about it but did not get enough time to truly explore the city. I am trying to figure out what might be some good places to go and eat and things to do that can accommodate as many as 12 people and get us out of the heat. Some of my current plans are to go to Mothers and Domilise's for breakfast/lunch and maybe Cochon for dinner. Other than that, I was planning on hitting up the rock n’ bowl to get away from the heat in the day. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

The Old New Orleans Rum distillery will host private parties and cater the event. Obviously, they also offer rum tastings as part of the deal. I talked to the folks that run the place during the Celebration in the Oaks Preview Party and they really made it sound like a good time. http://www.neworleansrum.com

Charlie's Steakhouse will be open by then. I hosted a bachelor party dinner there pre-K and it was perfect for a bunch of dudes.....

When's the opening date? Are we sure about this?

well, i live right by it and i saw the owner there the other day and he said middle of june for sure. i know there has been word of this since novemebr but this time i think it's legit...there are people there working late at night, the sign is up, looks like finishing touches going on. you can see the progress if you drive by just stop as they usually have the door open during the day.

Jacques Imo's can be fun with a large group...they take reservations for more than 5 people. Plus, its right next door to the Maple Leaf, which always has music.
