Family spending 2 weeks in Alentejo region of Portugal (mostly in a house south of Evora with a few days on the beach near Sines). Looking for range of restaurants -- both adults only and whole family. Kids eat everything but white tablecloth/close quarters with them isn't fun for mom and dad! Thanks.

Just returned from a biking trip thru Alentejo region...we loved the area...enjoyed two dinners very much - one was in Evora at the Pousada right on the main square by the Roman columns...can't remember the name - but once you go, you can check it out...it was one of our better meals.

The other was in Estremoz...Sao Rosas...Largo D. Dinis, 11 268.333.345. Very good meal and lovely wines.

I would say neither are for kids.

The food in the region has a heavy emphasis on salt cod and pork...these restaurants offered an opportunity to expand the repetoire for us.

Have a great time!
