Pasadena: places for sushi and bento box lunch??

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I are going to eat lunch in a few hours and I need to find a place quick!

He wants sushi and I want a bento box (non-teriyaki type!). Does anyone have any recommendations for any places around Pasadena area? I'm looking for a place moderately priced since it's only a casual lunch...no need for some fancy place or anything.
I've jotted down a few places from chowhound that sounded pretty good but I'm not that sure if any of them are what I'm looking for because I've never been to any of them before (Matsuri, Z Sushi, Tani, Shaab...how are the prices at these places anyways?).

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance to those who can help me out!!

(another late response) I've only been to Tani and I loved it. It's a little pricey but if you like a lot of fusion type rolls, they've got it. I'm looking forward to going there again really soon. Come to think of it, the Whole Foods in Pasadena might have been a good place for both of you. They have pretty decent sushi and I think they have something like the bento boxes at reasonable prices.

So what place did you end up eating at?

It's a late response but Hanabi at the Shops on Lake would fit what you are looking for

Not really moderately priced, but Maison Akira has good lunch bento boxes. Other than that, I don't know of a bento box worth mentioning really.

Late to the game, but by wild chance some friends and I skipped Sushi of Naples today when we saw the bento specials at Maison Akira.

Have to say, it was absolutely first-rate. Daily bento is 13.50 and the special bento was 20. Not a cheap lunch, but as a special outing it felt like a very good value.
