I tried the new crepe place that opened a few weeks ago on P Street near Dupont. It seems to be getting a lot of business. So they have an incredibly long menu with an impressive array of available toppings (including all combinations of various fruits, nutella, chocolate, ricotta, chestnut cream, etc.) I ordered a savory crepe and though I was disappointed that it wasn't served in buckwheat batter, they do offer plain or "whole wheat" batter. They also offer your choice of 5 different cheese options (swiss, jack, feta, cheddar, and one other one) with the savory crepes. I ordered swiss, mushroom, and spinach and it was good. Fresh veggies, served hot, not much more to ask for. They also serve the crepes folded up in a hand-holdable configuration, which I prefer to the folded-in-half option. I would definitely return.

Thanks for the review. I was just wondering about this place tonight because I got in the mood for a sweet crepe. They are right around the corner from my house but unfortunatly they were closed by the time my craving struck.

I hope to check the restaurant out soon though. I would be interested in hearing about other's reviews since looking at their menu there seems to be so many combinations.

There's been one in the Kentlands for several years, and I really enjoy it. I don't remember seeing the buckwheat or whole wheat options there, though... I'll have to look next time. But yummers. I love the various veggie combos. The sweets... I like the lemon crepe best. I also like the cinnamon/sugar. Not a big fan of the gooey nutella/fruity ones, but that's just my taste.

Third time back and pretty disappointed. I arrived right during the brunch rush on Sunday, and had to wait about 12 minutes for my nutella-banana crepe to go. It gave me the opportunity to watch them make a whole series of crepes, though, and I have to say they did not look good. There were two guys working the three crepe makers, and they were making nice smooth crepes and carefully seasoning the savory ones, however -- and this is the big problem -- they were not letting the crepes' contents warm up before they served them to people! They would throw on a bunch of raw spinach and just fold it up and serve it. Now, I personally expect cooked spinach on my savory crepe. When they sliced banana onto my nutella crepe and folded it up immediately to serve it to me, I actually stepped in and requested they let it heat up on the griddle so that the bananas would not be cold. After some difficulty communicating this to one of the cooks, the other one stepped in and was fine with it. The other disappointment was that they served the "to-go" crepe folded up and with silverware, rather than the wrapped-up hand-held version which I had hoped for. Sad.

This lack of attention may have been due to the rush of orders, but I have to say it really turned me off. I know I was spoiled by years of crepe stands in Paris, but they really should be doing it right if they're going to go around charging $5 to $9 for a crepe!

I looked this up here after seeing it featured on Steven and Chris.

The owner in the clip was making the crepes herself and she put the raw spinach on and folded it up.
