Brunch/Lunch near BBG and Brooklyn Museum

My Mother is in town next weekend and we are going to the BBG and Brooklyn Museum for the day. I am taking her out for a nice belated Mother's Day Brunch/Lunch. Can anyone recommend a nice place to go near by.

Tom's Restaurant, 782 Washington Avenue, is an old world (circa 1930's) diner with wonderful ambiance, friendly service and good food. Great Brooklyn experience, however I don't think they are open on Sunday.

There are a few decent brunch places nearby: Cheryl's, on Underhill just off of Eastern - a bit cramped and not terribly comfy, but close by, friendly staff, and decent food. Also, a brand new place called Abigail's on the corner of Classon Avenue and St. John's place. Went for brunch today and it was pretty good, with good coffee. They don't have their liquor license yet, so it's BYO...

If the weather is nice, the Terrace Cafe at the BBG is very pleasant and has decent, inexpensive food although it can get crowded on weekends. It's been a while since I've been to the cafe at the Brooklyn Museum, but I don't think that it's what you're looking for. Have a great time.
