Deep Fried Jalapeno Stuffed with Cream Cheese
I would like to try LA’s best deep fried stuffed jalapenos. Are there any special jalapenos around? What are they stuffed with and what other items go well with them?
I recall several years ago it seem that many places were offering them but now they are gone. What got me wanting them was Thursday night my wife left for two days to visit her family and, eh, you know the feeling, since she was gone I can do what ever I want. I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant but for me nothing compares to Tito’s beef empanadas, subs w/ jalapeno and hot wings. When ordering food for several meals I noticed Tito’s now has deep fried jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese. I only bought one and ate it as soon as I got home. I wished I had several more because the deep fried texture was perfectly crunchy, just like their wings. The red jalapeno was hot but not crazy hot. The cream cheese filling was very good and plentiful. Now I want to compare these with other places because this is a side treat that is so much better than fries, rings and other usual stuff.

Thanks to you all.
From that Taco Mesa link I notice a “sister restaurant”, Taco Rosa. On the platter menu at Taco Rosa I see SHRIMP JALAPEÑOS “Fresh, battered and stuffed with Shrimp & Cheese.” That sounds really good but since it is a platter of 12 for about $25 you will need maybe a few people to eat them. The empanadas sound good also.

Try The Arsenal on Pico.
Gallegos Mexican Deli does a traditional one.
O'Brien's on Main St - I know it's Irish Pub, but they're good there according to my best friend that insists on ordering them whenever they're on a menu.

There's no way that the LA-ers appreciate you as much as they should or as much as I do! Your posts are such a pleasure to read. LGO, nothing compares 2...Tito's. ;}

Hey, in a pinch, Arby's has them. Also, they are in every grocery store, in the frozen aisle. They also come stuffed with chedder, although I prefer cream cheese. Also, loved the Sinead.

Love the Sinéad also, especially her duet with Willie soulfully dissecting section 163(d)(4)(B)(iii) and amendments. So "don't give up" on finding those fried jalapeños, especially ones stuffed with soft cheese and pine nuts/raisins/cactus candy, etc.

I also appreciated the Sinead :-)
And: Even though this is sooooo un-chowhoundish of me, I also appreciate the stuffed jalapenos at Jack N' The Box. (Maybe because I only wind up there when I'm drunk? Hmmm...)

Jalapeno tempura at E3rd ...(also a modified version at their sibling Zip Fusion w/out the caviar)...topped with a sprinkle of caviar (the bright orange flying fish roe) and that sweet spicy sauce usually served with fried eel...for me, a bit over the top with the roe, needed a squeeze of lime with saltyness...half dozen were easily shared with others.
