Great veg brunch at Get Real---Really!

Ediblethoughts May 17, 2008 11:19 AM

I tried the place out today because my friend was really interested in the menu. I was worried with the recent negative experiences posted here but my friend was determined (and as we all know, experiences may vary). We split the Spanish tofu scramble and the quesadilla. The quesadilla was very tasty with the black bean and sweet potatoe mix. I don't pretend to have any idea what a legit quesadilla is but I liked that this dish was very different than any food matching that description that I've had before. It looked like a whole grain taco but had a satisfying chewiness to it. The quesadillas also had more kick than I'd have expected. The scramble had a nice curry flavour and the salsa toppings complimented both dishes as did the green salads with sunflower seeds. Even the whole grain toast was chewy and satisfying.

We were in and out in about an hour (we arrived around 11:45 or so) and the service was friendly. It likely helped that the day was overcast and it rained earlier in the morning--so no lines when we arrived.

I'd definitely go back and try some of the other dishes.

They have an apple and smoked gouda open faced sandwhich on thier brunch menu, it is definately worth trying.

    Get real is never disappointing.
