Ah yes, just four friends on the road with their camera crew..... :-)

I hate Gwyneth Paltrow, not because she's an annoying actress, but because she's pretty, thin, and can eat anything she wants without ballooning!

      Loved the trailer.

        1) IF, Paltrow is eating all that they are showing her eating, how is she so thin?
        2) I didn't hear much spanish spoken, but Paltrow's spanish seem excellent, the inflection and the flow is very good. Mario's on the other hand isn't quite what I expected. I thought he spent some of his formative years living there.
        3) I am so hungry right now.

GP lived many summers in Spain during her younger years and has what she considers a second family there, so that would account for her Spanish.

Re: Gwyneth and weight, I read the cover interview with her in Vogue. She said she can eat whatever she wants as long as she works out two hours a day. I figure if I could devote two hours a day to working out _ with a trainer to push me _ I could eat all I want and stay thin too.

Yes, if you think about it, controlling her weight is part of her job. Of course she works at it!

I got a bit irritated about GP being on the show as well with her macriobiotic diet and all. She said in an interview that she will eat anything that does not have 4 legs, so no jamon serrano for her.

I don't think either of the women really eats anything on that show. They taste and sample things but are not finishing whole plates of food like Batali or Bittman. If they did, they'd be a lot heavier.

I'm saying this because I hate it when the media shows abnormally thin women eating high calorie foods as if certain people are just naturally thin no matter what they eat. You can have high metabolism but believe me, if you ate churros and chocolate regularly and are past the age of 30, you don't fit into a size 2.

That rant aside...can't wait for the premier.

What I find amusing is the shots of glamourous young women sloooowly putting food in their mouths.

Besides, at least according to the press, Gwyneth Paltrow has been eating macrobiotic for years - rather the opposite of these feasts.

From what I read and heard recently she no longer follows the whole macrobiotic thing. She couldn't do it while she was pregnant (cravings etc.) and hasn't returned to it since the birth of her second child.

If the preview is any indication, this may turn out to be the best food television ever made.

well, my appetite is appropriately whetted!

Looks like a great show. While I'd watch just about any thing with the great clogged one the trailer actually has me looking forward to TV!

Now *this* looks like it's going to be a great show! Any idea for when it's scheduled? Other than "public television in September"?

Thanks applehome! I see it's on PBS in primetime according to that site.

It is Sept. 21 in my area, Spokane at 6 PM. Hardly prime time, they don't know about all the foodies out here!

Bittman? Please tell me that it's Bobby Bittman! That's a show I'd pay to watch!

                        How are ya?!

It is Mark Bittman who writes for the NYT. I read his blog...that's how I found this preview of the new show.

ROTFL! I haven't thought about Bobby Bittman for years! Now THAT would be a great show: Batali, Paltrow, Bassols and Bobby Bittman! Brought to you by SCTV

I'd even join extra public TV stations if his brother was part of the show.

I loved the guy breaking down the Tuna. Paltrow always seems stoned to me. I do look forward to the show.

Thank you for posting the trailer! I was so sure I'd hate it because of Paltrow, but now I can't wait to see it. Great chemistry, lots of gentle teasing, I wish I was there with the group!

You're right- Paltrow does act like she's stoned. Come to think of it, so does Mario sometimes...

I am so jealous. They really look like they are having fun, and everything is done so casually. I confess I can't keep my eyes off Claudia Bassols.

Unwatchable. Sadly, because the topic is interesting. It's like watching the "popular" boring people in school get to do fabulous things.
