Really good coconut layer cake (Brooklyn)?

Where can I buy a really good coconut layer cake? I don't really eat cake, but this is for someone's birthday, and one with many layers (more than 3, apparently - 10 was suggested, but that sounds crazy to me) was requested. In or near the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill/Brooklyn Heights/Red Hook/Park Slope vicinity would be best.

Thanks! I really am clueless about cake.

Try Cake Man Raven in Fort Greene.

I think he'd be perfect for coconut -- he specializes in all the Southern-ish flavors.
My office always gets his red velvet cake for co-workers' birthdays.

Never tried the coconut, but I've had amazing cakes from Baked (http://bakednyc.com/page/cakes-and-tr...) in Red Hook. It looks like they have a coconut cream cake -- not sure how many layers.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of coconut layer cake, but some of the better ones I've tried from Bklyn were from Lady Bird bakery in Park Slope (8th Ave, betw. 12th & 13th St) and Betty Bakery on Atlantic Ave (betw. Bond & Nevins). I believe you can customize them to your liking from both spots.
