Dinner before Les Miz @ Walnut St?

We will be taking our 14 y.o. son to see Les Miz next month at Walnut St. Theater. We'd like to go to dinner before the show. Looking for something close to the theater (9th & Walnut.) The three of us will eat just about anything. Not looking for something too fancy but reasonably nice since he (and we) appreciates good food. BYO or not; probably no Asian or Italian since we get that a lot in the burbs. Suggestions?

I'm going to see Les Mis tonight, anything close by? The show starts at 8 and we may be up for eating afterwards, around 11pm. Suggestions would be great!

Caribou Cafe is on Walnut St. between 11th and 12th, closer to 12th. French bistro.

Oceania is a very pricey, hight end seafood chain on the corner of 7th and Walnut. It is beatiful and the food is good but I would not pay the prices. Here's how to do it. They have been having a $30 pre theater dinner that is fantastic. When you call for a reservation, ask if it is still available and what the time restrictions are. When you get there it will not be on the menu but if you ask your waiter he will recite the choices on the prefix for you. The excellent fried calamari appetizer would have fed the whole table.

I believe you are referring to the Oceanaire Seafood Room

I saw Les Miz last week (really good production) and we went to Joe Pesce at 12th & Walnut. Really good food, but maybe a little pricey. I have season tickets at the Walnut St., so I've eaten in a lot of the places around there including Caribou, Jones, La Scala (didn't like that one), Portofino (not crazy about that either), Effie's (a little further away but good Greek) and the Irish Pub and the other Irish place near the theater.
