what to get Z Square, Kenmore

I'm going out for a goodbye lunch with work tomorrow at Z square in Kenmore. I haven't heard the best things about it but I was wondering if people had recs? I'm looking for a light sandwich or salad as I have a big Italian feast planned for dinner. Thanks!

  1. It’s OK, like a really nice coffee shop with beer and wine. I almost always order the all-day breakfasts, eggs, waffles et al. Also, very nice crepes. Where can you get crepes these days? I like the cinnamon or the banana dessert-y crepes, but the tomato and brie sounds GREAT.

The spinach salad is just fine. Avoid the “green apple slaw” because it’s tasteless. The fries are great. The absolute best, IMHO, is the roasted vegs and goat cheese on flatbread because the flatbread is superior. The tuna salad is just OK –you could make better at home. Another time try the burger –it’s excellent.

On the menu is a “ZLT” which is a BLT with avocado. That’s on my “must try” list, too. I work right next door to the place so I’m in there a lot. Eating at the bar is very nice, and the women behind the counter tip you to what’s good.

Significantly, they never promote the soups or desserts to me.

    1. I know it is too late for your lunch, but I have had luck with the Chacarero Salad at Z Square. Grilled steak topped with chimmi-churri (sp?), green beans, avocado slices, parmesan, all on a bed of greens. Yum. I noticed they also have yerba mate. Does an owner have a south american connection?
