Nationals Ballpark Area?

Dear Chowhounders,

Any suggestions for fun restaurants/bars to visit nearby the Washington Nationals ballpark prior to an evening game?

For quick cheap food there is a five guys and a subway if you exit the other entrance fomr the metro and walk to the other side of the building (not the Department of transportation) away form the stadium. There's also a thai place near tortilla coast and bullfeathers which serves american food.

If you Metro to Eastern Market, there are plenty of options there and along 8th Street.

Levi's Port Cafe is near 8th and M. Best soul food in town, cheap, and probably the best mac and cheese you'll find anywhere. A 15 minute walk to the stadium.

Question about food inside the stadium--Where would I find a veggie burger?

Don't remember from the one game I went to... I have been able to find online that Ben's Chili Bowl has vegetarian chili available. Apparently Hard Times Cafe has vegetarian options as well.

Supposedly (according to a Washington Post article), Change Up Chicken (Sections 135, 203) has veggie burgers. Also Capitol Cantina has vegetable burritos and tacos.

I walked up NJ Ave to First St. SE on the Hill and had dinner at Tortilla Coast the game I went to.

If the weather is decent you could take the Green Line one stop away to Waterfront, which is close to the Cantina Marina. Then walk/cab/Metro over to the Stadium.
