Need Moderate priced restaurant for Dinner Meeting in Santa Monica

Hello All,

I am responsible for feeding "the crew" of a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization & we need a moderately priced restaurant. By "moderate" think Mimi's Cafe or something similar. I don't live near Santa Monica, so I am in the dark here. This is for our Board Meeting and will likely include 12 to 15 people. We prefer a private room, or at least a quiet corner, so we can conduct the business of our organization in a normal tone of voice. I am a vegetarian, so I prefer to avoid Steak Houses. Any nice "family style" restaurant will do, as long as it's quiet. Our meeting will be from 6:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M., this coming Tuesday evening. We would like the location to be near Bergamot Station, if at all possible.

Thanks so very much for any help you can provide us!!

  1. Musha in Santa Monica is an Japanese Izakaya restaurant. It has a private room in the back that seats about 12. If you're on the small end of your estimate then it could work.

    1. Recommended for its proximity and variety (and the possibility of a private room) more than its food: Daily Grill. A step up in food, not much farther (no private room but a quiet area to the side): Il Forno.

      Daily Grill
2501 Colorado Ave. Suite 190, Santa Monica, CA 90404

      Il Forno Caffe & Pizzeria
2901 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405

I remember Il Forno having a private room off to the left of the entrance, no? Maybe it's a smaller dining room where they can seat large parties.

In any event I agree with the Il Forno rec.

In case you're really wanting a "family style" restaurant, there is a Coco's and an Acapulco's right across the street.

The room to the left at Il Forno is a smaller, nicer dining area but not a private room. It should be reasonably quiet, though, particularly on a Tuesday.

        1. Both Il Moro and Il Fornaio have a private room. They are each about 10 minutes drive from Bergamot Station.
