Dinner Place Portland Friday 5/23

Four of us are flying into Portland Friday 5/23 around 7pm. We need a good dinner place for that night. (Saturday we have Le Pigeon and Sunday we have Paley's Place, so we need something less formal perhaps...) Any suggestions? We were thinking of Clyde Common or Beast maybe....Thanks for any input

  1. Those are already two good options. You should also consider Pok Pok.

    1. Clyde Common would be great. While Beast is wonderful, they have two seatings, at 6 and 8:45, so you can't just drop in. I would not want to try to make a reservation that depended on my flight arriving on time--maybe you feel differently about that, though. That area is convenient to hit on the way in from the airport. Some other places in the neighborhood are Autentica (upscale Mexican), Alberta Street Oyster Bar and Grill, and Ciao Vito (Italian). All of those are open until 10 on Fridays. Outside of a few places (Paley's, Bluehour) Portland is pretty casual, so no worries about places being too formal. If you wanted to go real casual you could try Podnah's for barbeque, although they're only open until 9 PM.
