Brooklyn Label
I see they are in the works to get another new chef, I am excited to see what becomes of this, we had dinner there last night and it was ok, could be so much better.

yeah, i saw a "press release" from their former chef on menupages and a bunch of recent bad reviews.
has anyone been for brunch lately?
i've only been once before (Dec, Jan, or maybe Feb) and we loved both the Chili Colorado and the Green Eggs. i'm moving from NYC in a couple of weeks and we were going to meet friends there for brunch tomorrow (we live in Queens and they live on Roosevelt Island), so it'll be somewhat of a trek for both...
worth going still or should we do something else?
maybe dim sum in Flushing would be more dependable and easier?
thanks for the feedback,

re: MMRuth
Victor Malaric, formally of Zoe in soho
He does some wonderful specials at night, different all the time so hard to recommend. However for lunch I recommend the spinach salad with pistachio goat cheese croutons or chicken paillard, both full of flavor inexpensive and consistent, my new favorite spot in the neighborhood.I know he’s doing a strawberry daiquiri stuffed French toast this weekend for brunch, we discussed it at the chefs counter last night, looks to die for.

re: Asumnuthin
as long time customers of BL (and big fans of the earliest incarnation), we went back the other night: I ordered the flank steak special. preparation was mediocre (I ordered medium rare, and the strips of steak ranged from medium to well-done, and the meat tasted like it was borderline off) and the presentation was poor - looked like the food was literally thrown on the plate. we won't be back anytime soon....
