Arepa Lady - Roosevelt & 79th St

Her myspace page says she is back. Does anyone know why she doesn't open up shop until after 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday? Kind of late for an old guy like me to be traipsing down to JH, even if it is only a few subway stops away. Is it worth it?

The reason for the late hours is because that's when the business really gets going along that strip. There are lots of bars & clubs over there, and so there's lots of people out and about looking for good late night post-drinking type snacks. Tons of other late night street food available in that neighborhood too. Pretty much like there is in the entertainment area of any big Latin-American city, but here it's from a whole range of different cuisines. If you haven't been out there on a warm night at about midnight then you're really missing a whole fun NYC scene.

You could have dinner in the area then visit her afterward. Her Arepa is no better than a really good pancake. Is a really good pancake worth it?
