i went once since scott bryan left as head chef. i found it to be incredibly disappointing in quality. the service and wine are still top notch but the food just felt too forced and less refined.
i used to get the saddle of lamb there nearly every time for entree. if i remember, they raised the prix fixe menu price with the new chef which i thought was a low blow.

sam1,
Although Veritas used to be one of our favs, we have not been there since Ed Cotton took over because most of the reports about the food, like yours, have been less than positive. Since I don't drink, I went just for Scott Bryan's superb cuisine.
My recollection is that the price increase for the 3-course prix-fixe took place while Bryan was still there. However, while he was in charge of the kitchen, they never publicized any mult-course tasting dinners though I heard you could call and request one. (We never did.) Now, the website lists two Chef's Tastings: 5-courses @$110 and 7 courses @$135.
180macd,
I presume, since you have a gift certificate, you will go ahead and try Veritas. When you do, I hope you will post about your experience.
