Clay Pit Indian Restaurant (Brentwood)

INMHO: Stay away -- RIP OFF. Tonight, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, my wife requested we go to a neighborhood Brentwood restaurant called the Clay Pit. What a disappointment. Bill came to over $70 dollars (plus tip) for one of the most drab imitation Indian meals I have ever had. The Salmon Tandorri(sp) was barely adequate; and I believe the fish used was old. My Chicken Tandorri was barely average and I've had much better and tastier fare at El Pollo Loco. I requested an order of dahl. I thought they brought me some American baked beans. Even my wife, who had never had Indian food before compared it to the filling of a bean taco -- except we like bean tacos.
Like I said -- my opinion only.

I recently ate at Agra in Venice (on Lincoln Blvd, cross street Washington) and had no complaints. Small place, great service, chicken tikka masala was quite tasty.

I agree had a dinner there a few years back.. seems like nothing had changed and things have went downhill a bit. Much better offerings in town. Try Akbar on Wilshire when they reopen soon..

I much prefer Nawab further west on Wilshire to Akbar.

If I have to choose between those two then I'm very much with you, but I haven't been to either often enough to really crawl into the menus.
