I am looking for some burrito recs-specifically non-chain in the DC metro area. I am from texas and we have Freebirds! Previously, I have lived in San Diego and had enjoyed the burrito stands all over town. Anything in DC/NOVA? I am still looking for a decent burrito joint out here...

There is the Burrito Joynt in Alexandria/Kingstowne-but it's pretty mediocre at it's best...

Second Teocalli (which I do prefer over Chipotle). Also El Charitto Caminante, and just about any of the taco trucks (including the one in Reston that moved location again and I can't find right now), even though the burrito is an American concoction.

Forget it...I used to go to the Freebirds in Isla Vista, next to UCSB, and they were great...here in DC/MD/VA, they are just okay...you might want to check out the Mexican restaurants (El Tapatio, etc) in Riverdale, but like I said, just okay. You might try to look for them taco trucks and maybe they have burritos too...good luck.

A burrito smothered in red sauce and sometimes topped w/ cheese (aka "enchilada style). For ChewFun: Austin Grill, Baja Fresh, and I believe Well-Dressed Burrito all do pretty good wet burritos.

(I don't know if there are still any Chi-Chis around, but the last time I was at one (a few decades ago) they did wet burritos, too. I don't know that I would call them good, though...)

Mexicali Blues has a decent burrito, Taqueria Poblano I have never had their burritos by judging by all the different tacos I have had it is really good, it is in Del Ray. I really like the tacos at TECC, will have to try a burrito.
